New Orleans or Bust

It was almost the latter....
The rental car company assured me that they opened at five a.m. and could get me to my six a.m. flight no problem. They lied. They didn't even open up until 5:15 this morning, and then by 5:30 it was too late for United to get my checked luggage on my flight, so I had to rebook to the seven a.m. flight, which got me into New Orleans 2-1/2 hours later than my original plan.
On the plus side, I'm in New Orleans!
I'm sitting in the hotel room, smoking a cigarette and trying to figure out what to do for dinner and where to catch part of the Bacchus parade. The end of the parade route is about a block from me, but not visible from my window, so I'll have to go downstairs. I've also got a flask of rum, courtesy of my con roommates, so I'm pretty much set with drink and lung cancer and everything!
Oh, and on the connection from Denver to New Orleans? I finished Stop, Rewind, (re)Play! Woo hoo! Now to send it to

Date: 2004-02-22 10:10 pm (UTC)Oh, and I haven't had a chance to look at the story you sent, but I will. I'm just a teeny tiny bit preoccupied at the moment.
*suspects she will never sleep again*
Re:
Date: 2004-02-23 08:25 am (UTC)Do not even worry about the story - I think that I actually put a warning on it that if you never get around to it, that's fine. Mardi Gras with Elijah is far more interesting and entertaining than even the best stories, I should think.
Seriously, I'm so so jealousglad for you. Will you build a shrine to the beads, do you think?
*slips drink money* Go have fun, babes.

Date: 2004-02-23 08:44 am (UTC)There are just too many "my precious" jokes to make to that. I think I'll refrain entirely, though. *g*

Date: 2004-02-22 07:11 pm (UTC)As of tomorrow, of course, I'm off on adventures of my own, but I will try to get to it as fast as possible.
*keeping my fingers crossed for you to have great adventures*

Date: 2004-02-22 10:14 pm (UTC)I'm already having great adventures. I wore my new black cleavage shirt, which may have been lost on him in the dark and the crowd, but I felt sexy in it, so that's all good. I feel so...Moulin Rouge, wandering around in the decadent city with a clove cigarette in one purple-fingernailed hand, wearing sexy clothing and with my hair and makeup punked. All I need now is a lovely glass of absinthe. *g* I may never go home!

Date: 2004-02-22 10:17 pm (UTC)I'm already all with the drinking and the smoking and the swearing and the showing off my body. All I really need to do now is to either be turned by Lestat or...well, I'm not going to jinx the other by talking about it. *eg*
