Franz Ferdinand
Despite all the shit going on in my life right now (or maybe because of it, since it was a nice break), I went ahead and took
onnakitty to the Franz Ferdinand concert last night. Surprisingly, it sold out, which makes me especially glad I bought our tickets ahead of time.
The concert rocked.
Someone needs to stop me from writing Nick/Alex slash, though. They were being particularly cute, and I looked over at
onnakitty, who had her hand over her mouth and was grinning madly. Yes, she's a true second-generation slasher.
The most disappointing part of the concert was the fact that the venue (by city law) separates those who are 21 and over from the under-21 set; this meant that I either had to leave
onnakitty by herself in the balcony so I could stand against the stage, or be stuck miles and miles away from the action. Since it was her first concert, I was a good parent and allowed myself to be relegated to the nosebleed section. *g*
The guy standing next to me in the balcony (another parent with an underage kid) told me how he'd left getting their tickets until the day of the show, and then he'd found out that they were sold out. As he was walking away from the venue's ticket window, three guys who'd been walking down the street approached him and one offered to put his name on the guest list. It was Alex. *g* (I'm all kinds of envious, too, as I had to be up early and so we couldn't hang out by the tour bus to meet the band.)
I'm very glad I went, though, and
onnakitty is nearly vibrating with happiness, so I assume she is, too.

*heart!* Oh, lovely boys.
I'm so glad you had a good time at the show! And I don't in any way think you should be discouraged from writing Alex/Nick. Quite the opposite, in fact.
*eeps encouragingly!*

OMG.
I am so getting their early, and wearing my home-made "EMOTION AVENGER" tee shirt.

Done. I hope you enjoy.
BTW, love Franz Ferdinand. Very jealous you got to see them in concert.
Rumor has it they're going to do another round of touring soon, so maybe you'll get lucky, too.
