You're right about the song-fic warning. I really debated over that, but ended up including it because I didn't want people stumbling over the lyrics in the beginning and bailing because they thought it was something it wasn't. It was the wrong choice. *g*
I'm less worried, though, about people skipping over my stories (which seems to be your focus) than I am about why my stories don't engage people when they do read them. Why people finish a story and think to themselves, "Well, that was okay," instead of, "Wow!"
