1. Huzzah! RotK swept the Oscars!

2. Liv Tyler looked good for the first time in, like...well, ever. *g*

3. I am pleased beyond words that Pierce Brosnan's wife is cute and plus-sized. You show 'em honey, that not all the pretty boys go for the skinny girls.

4. Crying hobbits! I love the crying hobbits; they're so cute and sweet. I just want to hug them and kiss away their tears. And then *fade to black*.

5. Dresses that should be burned: Oprah's taffeta and tulle monstrosity, Uma's...thing that looks like it came with lederhosen, and Patricia Clarkson's diamond-spangled, flesh-colored thinks-it's-a-bodysuit sheath.

6. Dresses to die for: Susan Sarandon's simple black dress with the creative neckline, Liv's gorgeous couture, Catherine Zeta-Jones's sleek red sequined sheath, and Rene Zellweiger's fabulous white strapless gown with its just-right train.

7. Gary Ross is attractive! Who knew?

8. Disappointments: Johnny Depp's failure to take home a best-actor Oscar, the hobbits choosing to wear traditional tuxes, and a post-show interviewer asking PJ whether he wore his shoes all night.

9. Favorite red-carpet moment (non-LotR): The camera is showing long shots of various couples--Michael McKeon and Annette O'Toole, Sir Ben Kingsley and his wife, Naomi Watts and Heath Ledger, etc.--and then they pan to...Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. *g* Owen Wilson is obviously the new poster boy for homoerotic buddy movies. "Hmmm," says Anonymous Film Executive #43, "we need someone to play this subtly-homoerotic-yet-plausibly-deniably-heterosexual role. I wonder if Owen Wilson's available."

10. Favorite red-carpet moment (LotR): Dom, making faces from behind Elijah and Sean as they're being interviewed.

11. Favorite post-show interview moment: asking Charlize Theron if she thought there was an inequality in homosexual kissing portrayed in film, i.e., that lesbian kisses are explicit and more common, while gay male kisses are chaste and/or not seen at all. She, of course, was not prepared for the question, and failed to answer appropriately. *g*

12. Favorite post-show casual moment: Elijah saying his plans were to get "food, and then a drink," and Sir Ian announcing he was going to get, "a drink and then food."

13. I hate Jack Black and Will Ferrell with a red-hot passion.

14. Who appointed Joan Rivers the Burning Bush of Style? Sometimes I wonder if she can see straight after all those face-lifts. [/snark]
